Wills

Last Will and Testament document for professional Will Writing services

A Will is one of the most important documents you can put in place to protect the people you care about and ensure your wishes are followed.

Who would look after your children? Who would inherit your home, savings and possessions? Whom would you trust to deal with your estate?

Without a valid Will, these decisions may not be made in the way you would have chosen.

From straightforward Wills to more complex Estate Planning and Trust Wills, we'll take the time to understand your circumstances, explain your options clearly and help you put the right protection in place for you and your family.

Asset Protection Trust

An Asset Protection Trust can form part of careful Estate Planning, helping you consider how your assets are managed and ultimately passed on to the people you choose.

Would you like greater control over how and when your assets are inherited? Are you concerned about protecting an inheritance for children or other beneficiaries? Would you like to understand the options available for safeguarding family wealth for future generations?

Trust planning can provide greater flexibility and control, but it is important that any Trust is appropriate for your individual circumstances and established for the right reasons.

We'll take the time to understand your objectives, explain the benefits and limitations clearly, and advise whether a Trust may be suitable as part of your wider Estate Plan.

Lasting Power of Attorney
Lasting Power of Attorney document representing LPA services

Who would make important decisions for you if illness, an accident or loss of capacity meant you could no longer make them yourself?

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to choose people you trust to act on your behalf. There are two types: Property and Financial Affairs, covering matters such as your money, bills and property; and Health and Welfare, covering decisions about your care, treatment and wellbeing.

Putting LPAs in place while you have the capacity to make those decisions can give you and your family valuable reassurance for the future.

We'll guide you through the process, explain your options clearly and help ensure your LPAs accurately reflect your wishes.

Estate Administration
Probate and Estate Administration services following a death

Dealing with someone's estate after they have died can feel overwhelming, particularly at an already difficult time.

Probate and Estate Administration can involve identifying assets and liabilities, dealing with inheritance tax requirements, applying for the appropriate Grant where required, settling debts and distributing the estate to the correct beneficiaries.

Whether you need guidance with a particular part of the process or support with the administration of the estate, we can help you understand what needs to be done and the options available to you.

Where specialist legal or probate advice is required, we work alongside appropriate professional practitioners to ensure you receive the right support for your circumstances.

Protective Property Trusts
Protective Property Trust Will showing protection of jointly owned property

Would you like greater control over what ultimately happens to your share of your home while still providing security for your partner after your death?

A Protective Property Trust Will can allow your share of a jointly owned property to pass into a Will Trust when you die, while giving your surviving partner the right to continue living in the property, subject to the terms of the Trust.

This type of planning can help preserve your share of the property for your chosen beneficiaries, for example your children, while still protecting the surviving partner's right to remain in their home.

Protective Property Trust Wills are not suitable for everyone. We'll review how your property is owned, your family circumstances and your wishes, and clearly explain the benefits, limitations and implications before recommending whether this type of Will is appropriate for you.

Client After Care & Will Storage
Client Aftercare and secure Will Storage support from Lasting Wishes

Your Estate Planning shouldn't simply end when your Will is signed.

For £36.00 per year, our Client Aftercare & Will Storage service provides secure storage of your original Will, while you retain a copy for your own records. Your appointed Executors can also be provided with details of where your Will is securely held, enabling them to contact us and arrange retrieval of the original document when required and in the appropriate circumstances.

As part of our ongoing aftercare, you'll receive an annual review together with free amendments and updates where appropriate, helping to ensure your Will continues to reflect your circumstances and wishes.

We'll also keep you informed of relevant changes that may affect your Estate Planning and provide ongoing support whenever you have questions. During your annual review, we'll revisit your wider arrangements and highlight any areas you may still wish to consider or put in place.

It's ongoing support designed to help keep your Estate Planning up to date, your original Will securely stored, and your Executors aware of how to retrieve the document when it is eventually required.
